Shigeko Sara Suga

Shigeko has recently appeared as a Featured Dancer in LADY MACBETH OF MTSENSK at Metropolitan Opera House, Yu in NEWS FROM FUKUSHIMA by Yuri Kageyama, award winning feature documentary film/stage.  She has taught a physical theatre workshop and presented "GAMAN" as its final persentaion in December of 2022.  Other credits include: Mrs. Kano/Kumasaka in NO NO BOY by Ken Narasaki, Yojo (Witch) I in SHOGUN MACBETH with Pan Asian Rep where she is a senior artist member of the company.  She has worked in the New York theatrical scenes since 1986 in the wide range of discipline including; acting, directing, choreography, Flamenco, African drumming, various ethnic chanting and in the vocal experimentation.   Shigeko has worked for Yara Arts Group of Virlana Tkacz in NYC, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Theatre Dionysus of Sue Jane Stoker, The Skysaver Productions of Theodora Skippatares, Los Danzantes, Muna Tseng Dance Project, etc.  Her directing credits include; BAUDELAIRE: DEAR MOTHER & UN SAISON EN ENFER during pandemic on line, THE MAIDS at The Kitchen Space/NY and at TOLLWOOD FESTIVAL in Munich/Germany, LE BALCON, SHIKU HAKKU – THE EIGHT SUFFERINGS, SEGUIRIYA, THE HEART BEATS and ACCADDE DOMANI at La MaMa, SOTOBA KOMACHI, TEATRO FLAMENCO Y BUTOH at La MaMa and at Ex Convento de Santa Teresa de La Antigua in Mexico City,  HEDDA GABLER as a presentation following “Shigeko Suga” workshop by Pan Asian Rep., 10 SECONDS OF MY FAME at St. Clement’s Theatre,LEIR REX (KING LEAR) co-directing with Mr. Ernest Abuba by Shout Production and New York Performance Alliance.
